Luis Suarez returned to first-team training at Melwood on Friday after apologising to his Liverpool team-mates.

Suarez has tried to force through a move away from Liverpool for much of the summer and was banished to train on his own at Melwood until he issued an apology to his colleagues.
And now Sportsmail understands the Uruguay striker has said sorry to his Liverpool club-mates, hence his inclusion in the first-team training session ahead of Liverpool's Premier League opener against Stoke.

THE GAMES SUAREZ WILL MISS

AUGUST
17: Stoke City (h) - (BT Sport, 12.45pm)
24: Aston Villa (a) - (Sky Sports, 5.30pm)
27: Notts County [Capital One Cup] (h)
SEPTEMBER
1: Manchester United (h) - (Sky Sports, 1.30pm)
16: Swansea City (a) - (Sky Sports, 8pm)
21: Southampton (h)

The £55million-rated Suarez appeared to be in high spirits, as he joked around with fellow Reds players between drills.
The 26-year-old, who was Liverpool's top goalscorer last season, is unavailable for selection against the Potters as he still has six games of a 10-match ban to serve. Suarez was suspended late last season for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
Suarez's will-he, won't-he transfer saga has dragged on for much of the summer, with Arsenal having a £40,000,001 bid turned down by the Reds.
Manager Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, has grown tired of talking about the ongoing transfer saga involving Suarez.

‘There’s too much good work gone on here for it to be overtaken by anything else,’ said Rodgers in his press conference.
‘The players’ concentration has been brilliant and we are all very determined this year. I can’t let anything detract from that.
‘Nothing can sabotage what we are trying to do. With Luis Suarez, it is very simple. There has been so much written and said over these last few months but from our perspective, our position hasn’t changed. Out of respect to the players who are here, I want to concentrate on those who are available.
‘I won’t be speaking about him until he is available again (at the end of September, after his ban finishes).
‘There is nothing to be said that hasn’t already been said. I am sure everyone is absolutely fed up about reading and listening to (everything about Suarez).
‘So purely out of respect to the players who are available and the work they have done since they have been back in pre-season, I only want to speak about them.’
